Organisations and Networks

Allergy UK is a national medical charity established to increase understanding and awareness of allergy, to help people manage their allergies, to raise funds for allergy research and to provide training in allergy for health care professionals including Doctors, Nurses, Dietitians and Pharmacists.

American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology is the largest professional medical speciality organisation representing allergists, clinical immunologists, allied health professionals, and other physicians with a specialist interest in allergy. Its website contains extensive information for patients, medical professionals, its members and the media. 

Anaphylaxis Campaign is a membership based organisation which provides information and guidance about anaphylaxis primarily to its members and to potential members but also to the media, health professionals and food companies. There is also a strong campaigning role, particularly in the areas of product labelling and allergy services.

Association of Anaethetists of Great Britain and Ireland  - This site contains guidelines for documentation and management of anaphylactic reactions during general anaesthesia. It includes information for health professionals and the general public, including therapy protocols and downloadable information sheets. 

Asthma UK - A wealth of information for asthma sufferers and monitoring procedures for health professionals.

British Thoracic Society is a professional medical membership society. It exists to help improve quality and standards of care for people with respiratory and associated disorders. It organises two annual conferences, produces evidence-based treatment guidelines, publishes the learned journal Thorax with the BMJ, promotes research, operates a Peer Review Scheme and works closely with a range of other organisations to promote good practice.

Education for Health is a powerful merger of two fo the UK's leading education institutions for health professionals: the National Respiratory training Centre (NRTC) and Heartsave. It aims to provide a consistent, comprehensive and innovative approach to professional health training across the fields of cardiovascular disease and respiratory health, with the ultimate objective of transforming lives worldwide. ENT-UK is a professional medical membership association set up for the public benefit of education, training and research int he fields of otorhinolaryngology - head and neck surgery; the relief of patients suffereing from diseases in the ear, nose and throat related areas.

European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI) is a Europe wide association of allergists and clinical immunologists which aims to promote public education, basic amnd clinical research and to encourage training and on-going education of doctors and allied health professionals in the field.
