Hope for children with peanut allergies, including BSACI's exclusive interview with Dr Andy Clark.

A group of children with peanut allergies have had their condition effectively cured, doctors believe.

A team from Cambridge's Addenbrooke's Hospital, including Dr Andy Clark and Dr Pamela Ewan (above) exposed four children to peanuts over a six-month period, gradually building up their tolerance.

Warning! Possible increase in reactions to hidden peanut in curry

 

Recently several mainly peanut-sensitive patients have been admitted with sudden severe anaphylaxis following eating a curry, sometimes from their usual provider whose curries were previously tolerated. Two were fatal.
