For many years the BSACI has been a major focus for clinicians and scientists in the UK and overseas. There has been a rapid increase of interest in immunological mechanisms in allergic disease and with this in mind efforts have continued to increase the basic science and clinical output of the Society. This has led to an upsurge of interest in allergy as a branch of clinical immunology and the recognition that the discipline embraces many sub-specialities in medicine.
