A film celebrating the centenary of the only cure for allergies and the life and work Dr William Frankland – the UK’s oldest serving doctor, has been produced by Dr Sophie Farooque, who was the UK’s first allergy trainee and is now the country’s first allergy consultant to have been an allergy trainee.

The BSACI Annual Meeting will take place this year between the 2nd- 4th July, 2012 at The East Midlands Conference Centre, Nottingham,UK.

The BSACI has produced a table of all influenza vaccines stating availability, egg content, price, and prescribing age for the present season (2011/2012).

Advice on recent peanut allergy deaths

I am writing to you following two recent deaths following allergic reactions to peanuts in people with known peanut allergies, to ask you to highlight these cases to your members, so as to try to minimise the risks of further similar reactions. When the Food Standards Agency was reviewing the information that it received about these two deaths, two key issues emerged that we would ask health professionals to convey to their patients when providing them with advice on how to manage their food allergy.
