Warning! Possible increase in reactions to hidden peanut in curry

Recently several mainly peanut-sensitive patients have been admitted with sudden severe anaphylaxis following eating a curry, sometimes from their usual provider whose curries were previously tolerated. Two were fatal.

It is possible that ground peanut is being used to thicken curries in place of ground almonds which are now expensive. Please alert your patients to this danger.
