2021 Clinical Excellence Awards

The ACCEA award round opened  on 7th December 2020 and will close at 5:00pm on Thursday 18th March 2021.  Because there are such limited amount of awards agreed each year by ministers this makes the process increasingly competitive. However BSACI would strongly urge members to apply for an award, specifically we would like to encourage BSACI members from female and BAME consultants to apply for support from BSACI.

Consultants can apply for new national awards and for renewals due in 2021. This includes those who were due to renew in 2020 and whose awards were extended by one year.

Award holders will need to submit a renewal application if:

  • they received their current award in the 2017 round
  • the award was last renewed in 2016 (awarded in 2012, 2007, 2002)
  • the award was due to be renewed in 2020 and was extended by one year

However should you wish to apply we would strongly advise reading the ACCEA latest guidance carefully before making an application as the information on how to apply has changed.

BSACI members wishing to receive direct support from the Royal College of Physicians (RCP) as a National Nominating Body will need to send an application directly to the RCP.  Details of support from the RCP can be found via the RCP website  Likewise paediatricians seeking RCPCH support should  click here.

If you wish to be considered for support by BSACI, please submit your application by email using the ACCEA forms. Please send your application to us by 5pm on Friday 12th February 2021.

In your covering email you will need to include details of your current award and when this was awarded (and if applicable when it was last renewed). For those applying for Bronze awards, please state the level of your current local CEA or any discretionary points.

Please email your completed forms to Fiona@bsaci.org by latest 5pm on Friday 12th February 2021.

The process by which applicants will be assessed and scored can be found here
