BSACI is working with Imperial College London to establish a prospective UK Anaphylaxis Registry, supported by UK Food Standards Agency (FSA) and Food Standards Scotland (FSS), to collect data relating to unintended allergic reactions. The Registry is fully integrated into the existing European Anaphylaxis Registry Network for Online Registration of Anaphylaxis (NORA). We are working in partnership with the Paediatric Emergency Research in the United Kingdom & Ireland (PERUKI) network, to collect real-time information from individuals presenting to Accident & Emergency departments and other acute care environments (Acute Assessment Units, GP surgeries) using an abbreviated record form to reduce the time needed to report cases.

The purpose of the Registry is to record episodes of significant allergic reactions in the community following unintended allergen exposure.  This information will help improve services for our allergy patients and help guide public policy. Patients of any age (including children, young people and adults) are eligible for inclusion if they have had an “unintended” allergic reactions to either food or a non-food trigger outside a hospital setting. We are collecting cases of anaphylaxis as well as more mild reactions presenting to hospital.

BSACI and other health care professionals are encouraged to register for access to the online platform.
