BSACI Membership

Who are the BSACI?

The British Society of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (BSACI) is the national professional and academic organisation representing allergists, clinical immunologists, allied health professionals and physicians with special interest in allergy.

  • Informing opinion leaders by campaigning to improve allergy services.
  • Encouraging research into allergiv diseases and disorders of the immune system
  • Providing allergy education for both primary and secondary care clinicians, scientists and allied health professionals.
  • Promoting allergy education for undergraduate medical students.
  • Representing the specialty at the Royal College of Physicians (RCP), Royal College of Paediatric and Child Health (RCPCH), Joint Committee of Immunology and Allergy (JCIA) and within the National Allergy Strategy Group (NASG).
  • Working with other organisationsto educate and raise awareness of allergy nationally.
  • Providing educational opportunities and to build closer links with other disciplinesincluding ENT surgeons, respiratory physicians, dermatologists, gastroenterologists and dietitians where allergy may be a subspecialty interest.
  • Maintaining international collaboration, for example with the World Allergy Organisation (WAO), the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EACCI) and the American Academy of Asthma, Allergy and Immunology (AAAAI)
There are 5 types of BSACI membership that you can apply for:

  • Clinical Membership

    This membership is for post CCT Doctors (e.g. Consultants, GP's)

  • Non Clinical

    For Scientists and Researchers

  • Nurse and Allied Health Professionals

    For Nurses and Allied Health Professionals

  • Junior Membership

    To qualify members must be under 35 years old or any non-clinician within five years of their last higher degree (eg PhD, MSc) or any clinical trainee in allergy or clinical immunology or a related clinical specialty

  • Student Membership

    Full time Undergraduate Students. For Post Graduate Students please apply for Clinical or Junior membership

The BSACI membership year runs from the 1st August to the 31st July. BSACI membership is charged at a Pro Rata amount worked out from the date that you joined. The prices below are for the full year. If you apply for membership in June then you will be charged the pro-rata amount plus the full next years subscription.
 
You can pay for your BSACI membership in a number of ways including:

    Please note that from 2020 the BSACI will no longer accept Cheque Payment

Members’ Website - All members receive access to the members area of the BSACI website where most members (pending category of membership) can access the online journal, download patient information leaflets, view guidelines (including eGuidelines) and the position papers etc. as well as view the latest edition of Allergy Update - the official newsletter of the BSACI and much more. 

There are also details of how to apply for a Travel Fellowship to attend international meetings - eligibility requires ratification of membership beforehand and proof of an accepted abstract.

Annual Meeting - Appropriately qualified non-members who seek to join the Society within two months of the Annual Meeting will be required to pay the undiscounted non-member registration fee for the meeting.
