FAIR Study 2024 - BSACI

FAIR Study 2024

Dear Health Care Professionals,

Researchers at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust, University of Birmingham and University of Surrey are conducting a study to shape culturally tailored supportive measures for patients from a South Asian background with food allergy. They would like to find out about your experiences of reviewing and managing patients from a South Asian background with food allergy, as well as your views on what support patients from a South Asian background need to improve their self-management behaviours.

We are writing to ask if you would be willing to take part in this study.  The outcomes of the study will inform a new series of interventions to support patients from a South Asian background with food allergy and may also be published in scientific journals.

Please review the document prior the meeting. If you would like more information about the study, please contact the Research Fellow directly.

You are invited to participate in a Focus Group with other allergy specialists to discuss your preferences for the development of resources to support adults from a South Asian background in their management of Food Allergy.

Date: Wednesday 2 October at 5pm

Venue: The Crowne Plaza (next to the conference centre) – Braham Suite

Light Refreshments will be provided (please reply with any dietary requirements).

Question for reflection prior to the meeting:

What are the unique challenges you face in providing care for South Asian patients with food allergy? Thinking specifically of challenges from a social/psychological/cultural perspective.

Looking forward to seeing you at the conference.

Kind regards

The FAIR Study Research Team
