Furness General Hospital - Paediatric Allergy Clinic - BSACI

Furness General Hospital - Paediatric Allergy Clinic

Our Allergy nurse led clinic provides Paediatric Allergy Services to children under 16 years of age residing in South Cumbria.

We are happy to assess children presenting with complex allergic/atopic problems,  such as;

  • Complex/multiple food or drug allergy, including concerns regarding anaphylaxis, and children with very restricted diets as a result of concerns regarding allergy
  • Complex allergic rhinoconjunctivitis, or rhinoconjunctivitis not responding to initial treatment
  • Chronic/recurrent urticaria and/or angioedema
  • Eczema where there is significant concern regarding an allergic trigger (allergy testing may not be appropriate)
  • Asthma where there is significant concern regarding an allergic trigger

More straight forward allergy problems can be referred to the General Paediatric clinic in the first instance.

Concerns regarding delayed milk allergy can usually be referred to the Paediatric dietetic clinic.

We offer Skin Prick Testing and Specific IgE Allergy Blood Testing for common allergies if indicated.

Dietetic and Dermatology clinics are available but are separate from the Allergy service.

We are part of the North West Allergy Network.”

Currently at FGH we are able to provide;
