NHS England asthma training tiers

NHS England have developed a new education and training framework to support Children and Young People’s asthma care.  The training is free, online and accredited.

The framework is aimed at both health and non-healthcare professionals across all aspects of a child’s life and is divided into five tiers.

Each individual should look at their level of care to determine which ‘tier’ training is the most suitable for them.

The level of training can be determined using the framework document National-Capabilities-Framework.pdf (e-lfh.org.uk)

Tier 2 training is aimed at professionals supporting CYP care and may include:

  • Practice, School, Community and ward nurses
  • Health visitors
  • Community pharmacist
  • AHPs
  • Ambulance staff
