2024 Annual Conference a huge success
It was tremendous to welcome almost 800 delegates to the BSACI 2024 Annual Conference “The Power of Data, the Power of People” – our last in Harrogate and our last as Scientific Programme leads.
We hope the conference was one of your scientific highlights of the year. We were delighted to see the packed sessions and vibrant discussions. This year we held a special dedicated practical allergy half-day which was very well attended. We hope you took away lots of tips directly translatable into your clinical practice. We also introduced an ‘Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity’ session with a dedicated abstract stream and award this year. In total, we had over 170 abstracts presented, our highest number ever! Congratulations to all the Abstract Award winners.
BSACI continued to support delegates through the Abstract Award Scheme and we were delighted to award 17 Abstract Awards as well as 13 Medical Scholarships.
We hope many of you were taken by surprise by the first BSACI Flash Mob! Thanks so much to Nick Makwana for choreographing so skilfully and all our dancers for joining in with so much enthusiasm! We still find ourselves humming the tunes and pulling those moves… Well done to all the fun runners who had a beautiful misty morning run through lovely Harrogate ably led by Joseph Jayasundra. We hope you wear your t-shirts with pride for years to some! The Gala dinner topped off things with an infectious band keeping us on the dance floor until the very end.
We would like to extend a huge thanks to all our amazing faculty, our sponsors, our Charity partner presenters, our joint session collaborators, and Medivents who once again delivered on all organisational aspects of running such a large event. A huge thanks to our Programme Planning Committee, the BSACI team, the BSACI council, and mostly to all of the delegates who attended to make this year’s conference a success. Check out the photos.
We are delighted to hand the reins over to Costas Kotsapas and Joseph Jayasundera and having had a sneak peak into what they have planned, next year’s meeting is one that is not to be missed! Please save the date – Thursday 16th-Saturday 18th October 2025, taking place at the ICC, Wales. Registration will open soon.
