Celebrating 75 years of BSACI at our Annual Conference
On 5th-7th October BSACI hosted our Annual Conference at Harrogate Convention Centre.
The conference was attended by more than 750 delegates, speakers, industry partners and exhibitors. To mark the special occasion of 75 years of BSACI, we celebrated our significant milestones and achievements over the years with special sessions throughout the conference programme.
Fortunately the train strikes didn’t impact attendees arriving in time for the workshops, which were well attended. We will be taking on board all the feedback we received, so please do complete the survey you have been emailed and let us know your thoughts. We have already received lots of positive feedback, including:
“The rapid reviews were incredible”
“The poster presentations, poster walks and access was one of the most helpful aspects of the conference”
“Up to date research, meeting and connecting, exposure to new ideas”
We have also received suggestions for topics and areas of focus to take forward to future conferences.
We celebrated excellence in allergy care and research, many congratulations to the Barry Kay Awardees and Dr David Luyt who was chosen by the BSACI membership for the 2023 William Frankland Award. Congratulations also to Professor Chris Corrigan who has been awarded the BSACI Fellows Award, this award recognises BSACI members who have made significant contributions to the society in providing a continuously active role for 20 years or more, helping to shape the society and UK allergy & clinical immunology as a specialty within the UK.
BSACI again supported delegates through the Abstract Award Scheme with travel, registration and accommodation costs for the conference. We were delighted to award 16 Abstract Awards this year as well as 10 Medical Scholarships.
The conference was interspersed with industry symposiums, thank you to all our industry partners and exhibitors for their support this year. The social events ‘Welcome Reception’ and ‘Gala Dinner’, were both well attended and provided a great opportunity to make new connections, network and celebrate 75 years of BSACI.
Thank you to attendees, speakers, chairs, industry partners and exhibitors for making this milestone event a huge success. We hope delegates found the conference a rewarding experience and enjoyed the opportunity to network with colleagues from around the world.
Please save the date for Global Allergy Online Symposium in partnership with AAAAI, EAACI and WAO on Friday 26th January. Look out for your early bird registration email next week!
