Allergy Action Plans (AAPs) represent an essential tool in the management of patients with severe allergies who are at risk of anaphylaxis. Allergy Action plans must provide clear and concise guidance on how to recognise and treat severe allergic reactions including anaphylaxis, and should align where possible, with the latest clinical treatment guidelines.
BSACI has developed an open-access Adult Allergy Action Plan (AAP) in collaboration with national allergy patient charities, Allergy UK and Anaphylaxis UK, with oversight from the BSACI Standards of Care Committee (SOCC) for adults self-managing anaphylaxis. There are two individual plans for each auto injector available in the UK.
AAPs can only be completed by a trained healthcare professional. It should not be edited after completion. A new document should be completed if changes are needed, and only with a trained healthcare professional’s recommendation.
These AAPs will help adults to self-manage anaphylaxis.
