BSACI wish to recruit a Chief Scientific Officer who will be responsible for leading on the development and delivery of BSACI NICE accredited clinical guidelines. The postholder will also be responsible for coordinating the development of a variety of documentation developed by BSACI, to ensure BSACI conforms to the highest clinical standards at all times whilst following the development processes that are in place including the NICE process.  

The BSACI ‘Standards of Care Committee’ has oversight of information which is developed by the society. The postholder will be responsible for managing the work of the committee and supporting the chairs in all aspects of documentation development.

The role will involve managing the work of the part-time coordinator by supporting their development and monitoring performance. The coordinator is responsible for coordinating the activities for a BSACI web-based patient registry that records immunotherapy treatment of patients under the care of BSACI consultants.

The role requires someone who is confident, highly organised, has attention for detail and a methodical approach to completing and collating information. Someone who has medical publishing knowledge, managerial experience who is responsible, self-motivated and pro-active.  There is a lot of scope for developing in this area of work within the society which the postholder will be expected lead on and implement.
