BSACI response to House of Lords
The BSACI has made its formal response to the recommendations of the House of Lords Select Committee for Health inquiry into allergy in 2004.
The BSACI strongly supports the Committee’s key recommendation that new allergy treatment centres and new clusters of expertise should be set up, staffed with sufficient trained allergy personnel, to give an appropriate provision of allergy treatment across the country.
We consider that there should be at least one allergist-led allergy centre staffed by consultants in adult and paediatric allergy in each region. Existing allergy centres need to be strengthened.
