Allergy in the Military Working Group - BSACI

Allergy in the Military Working Group

The Allergy in the Military Working Group set out to standardize the approach of those patients who have applied to join the military and subsequently referred due to concerns regarding a pre-existing history of allergy.

Aims

  • provide guidance for Allergy Specialists undertaking assessment for those with an allergy label that precludes a military application
  • to standardise practice across the UK in the assessment process to ensure that patients do not “cherry pick” centres
  • To provide advice to the military on the relative risk of allergic conditions in general and within an individual in a consistent manner across centres
