Contraindications - BSACI

Not all individuals are suitable for food immunotherapy and various contraindications have been proposed. These include poorly controlled asthma, chronic idiopathic urticaria, eosinophilic oesophagitis, eosinophilic gastrointestinal diseases or poor concordance with the regime. Allergen immunotherapy is also generally not initiated during pregnancy, or given to patients on beta-blockers or those with auto-immune disease or malignancy.
