Who we are

Dr Matt Doyle – Chair

Dr Doyle FRCP FRCGP is a full time GP in Jersey and has worked in the UK and overseas. He joined the BSACI and EAACI in 2010 after studying Allergy at Imperial College and St Mary’s Hospital in London and completing a Certificate of Advanced Study in Allergic Medicine. He was a member of the NICE Guideline Development Groups for Anaphylaxis and Drug Allergy. He has written on Allergy guidelines for publications aimed at General Practice and has been involved in developing commissioning guidance for the RCGP and RCR. He is an Expert Resource in Allergy for the Clinical Innovation and Research Unit at the RCGP and is committed to exploring ways in which Primary Care can better provide for patients with Allergic disease.

Dr Amir Esteki – Secretary

Amir studied Medicine in Germany and then completed his PhD research in Munich in ”Coagulation disorder in septicaemia and septic shock”. He then moved to the UK and worked in the UK in Medicine as Medical Registrar before joining general practice training and became a GP in 2004. He was awarded the membership of the Royal College of General practitioner in 2008 and the completed his MSC in Allergy and Immunology at the Imperial College London by Professor Warner at the Queen Mary Hospital in 2015. He is a managing partner of a middle sized GP Surgery in Luton and the Director of Wheatfield Ltd that runs a large Bedfordshire pharmacy. Here he manages patients with allergies and accepts referrals from his colleagues and also serving private patients as well. He is currently putting structure in place to establish the first primary care community allergy services for the Bedfordshire population.

Dr Elizabeth Angier – Lead for external representation and collaboration

Elizabeth is a primary care physician working in Hampshire in the UK. She has completed an MSc in allergy with a dissertation on self- management in asthma and allergy, and is about to start a part time PhD on anaphylaxis and adolescents at Southampton University. She has interests in health systems, research, education and anaphylaxis. She works in both the community and hospital settings alongside an integrated care commissioning role. She has chaired the BSACI primary care group and the EAACI working group in primary care. She has been involved in guideline production for EAACI and the BSACI from the primary care context. She enjoys lecturing at conferences and creating podcasts. She is keen to improve the patients experience of care across the health system.

Dr Judith Clayton – Guidelines and Quality Standards Lead

Dr Judith Clayton is a GP partner at Lensfield Medical Practice in Cambridge.  She has an interest in both paediatric and adult allergy and in 2015 she completed an MSc in Allergy at Imperial College London with distinction.  Dr Clayton is also a member of BSACI SOCC.

Dr M Ridd – Research Lead

Matthew Ridd (@riddmj) is a GP in Portishead, North Somerset; and Professor of Primary Health Care at the University of Bristol.  His research interests include skin and allergy problems diagnosed and managed in primary care, with a focus on childhood eczema.  He established and co-chairs the SAPC Primary care dermatology research and NIHR School for Primary Care Research Skin and allergy working groups.  He has previously been a member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health Allergy Care Pathways (Eczema) and NICE Quality Standards for Atopic Eczema.
